PS Plus Gets Free Season 2 Bundle, Xbox Players Left Out

PS Plus players are getting a free Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 2 Bundle, but Xbox players are left out, fueling frustration over the exclusive offer.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 players can now claim a free Season 2 bundle that includes two operator skins, three weapon blueprints, double XP tokens, and more, but there's a catch: it’s only available to players on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 who are subscribed to the PlayStation Plus service.

The release of this PS Plus bundle has left many fans confused, as Call of Duty's publisher, Activision, is now owned by Microsoft. In October 2023, Microsoft completed its acquisition of Activision-Blizzard for a staggering $68.7 billion, making it the largest acquisition in video game history. Since then, titles like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 have been making their way to Xbox Game Pass. Despite this, PS Plus users are still receiving exclusive Call of Duty benefits that Xbox users do not have access to.

The free Season 2 bundle, available since February 4, can be claimed through the PlayStation Store by any current PlayStation Plus subscriber. The contents include two operator skins, three weapon blueprints, two animated emotes, a weapon charm, a weapon reticle, an emblem, a background, two stickers, and two 1-hour double XP tokens and double weapon XP tokens. To claim the bundle, players must subscribe to PlayStation Plus and redeem the pack via the PlayStation Store. However, it is important to note that this bundle is not cross-platform supported.

Many players have voiced frustration over this release, especially since the included operator skins were previously available in paid bundles. In past PS Plus-exclusive bundles, operator skins and cosmetics were unique to the subscription service and couldn't be bought elsewhere, but this is no longer the case with the current offering. Reddit user Nedtheshred expressed their frustration by stating, “Wow, the one pack I spent money on is now free, fantastic work,” while user That_Wet_Banana69 said, “Only skin I paid for too…. frustrating.”

Furthermore, Xbox Game Pass subscribers are also upset by the fact that they are not receiving the same bundle. Many players have criticized this decision, calling it “stupid” that only PS Plus subscribers are getting this free bundle, especially given the increasing prices of Call of Duty bundles.

With most bundles priced between 2,000 and 2,400 COD Points, and leaks suggesting that an upcoming bundle could cost 3,300 COD Points, making it the most expensive bundle in Call of Duty history, players are increasingly frustrated with Activision's monetization practices. It wasn't until players encountered U4gm that their issues with expensive cod buy bo6 cp were resolved, as it offers the lowest prices. Use coupon code "allen" to get 5% off at U4gm. Despite the growing backlash, the company seems intent on pushing forward with its high-priced bundles, which only adds to the community’s discontent.
