1. Requirements & Prerequisites
Before you can activate and enter a Spacetime Rift, there are a few things you need to prepare:
Level Requirement
- Basic Rift Access: At Level 22, you may encounter early rift-related quests, allowing you to get a taste of the mechanic.
- High-Tier Rift Access: To fully unlock and enter high-tier rifts for intense raids or cross-server PvP, you need to be at least Level 45.
Faction Status
- You must be in a penalty-free state. If you've recently incurred a death penalty or are locked due to a mission, you won’t be able to enter a rift until those penalties are cleared.
2. Monitor the Rift Schedule
Spacetime Rifts do not remain open at all times. They spawn on a scheduled cycle, so you’ll need to keep an eye on these windows.
Spawn Timers
- Rifts generally open every 3 to 4 hours. Typical spawn times are around 11:00, 15:00, and 19:00 server time, but these can vary.
- Server Alerts: The game will send system-wide notifications to announce the opening of rifts. Keep an eye out for these alerts, as they let you know when a rift is "unstable" or "active."
UI Progress Bar
- Some versions of Aion 2 feature a progress bar in the event menu. This bar shows the countdown (from 0% to 100%) until the next rift activation. Make sure to check this regularly to time your entry.
3. Locate the Entrance on the Map
Once you’ve received the alert, you’ll need to find the rift gate.
Map Icons
- Open your World Map, and look for a purple swirling vortex or a jagged circle icon. These indicate the rift's location.
Common Spawn Points
- Rifts tend to spawn in 3-4 specific locations in each zone. Typically, you’ll find them near high-level areas or landmarks like the Destroyed Gate or similar places.
4. Entering the Rift
Now comes the critical part: actually entering the rift.
Beat the Player Cap
- Rifts have an entry limit, usually around 400 players. If you arrive after the cap is reached, the rift will still be visible, but it will show a "Full" message, and you won’t be able to enter.
The Interaction
- When you reach the rift, approach the purple glowing cyclone. Press the interaction button, and you’ll be instantly teleported to a mirrored version of the map on the opposing server’s territory.
5. Post-Activation Tips

Select Your Mode
- When you arrive in the enemy’s server, you may be given the option to toggle between PvE or PvP modes.

Use a Kisk
- Kisks are Personal Resurrection Points that can be placed in hidden corners of the enemy map. If you die without setting a Kisk, you’ll be forcibly returned to your home server, which can waste valuable time.
Timer Awareness
- Keep an eye on the rift’s timer. The rift usually stays open for 10 to 60 minutes. If you don’t exit before the timer expires, you’ll be stuck in the enemy server until you either die or teleport out. Be aware that if you leave, you won’t be able to return before the rift closes.
