Mini Seasons Is Where Planning Matters

Mini Seasons can be a bit of a slog, but it's one of the most important parts of the route. You'll need Vintage players in the squad to handle the specific goals. First, get 10 strikeouts with relievers to unlock Matt Strahm. Then use Strahm for two saves to unlock Raul Ibanez. After that, get on base six times with Ibanez and keep building Player XP. There's also a helpful bonus goal tied to earning 10,000 PXP with Vintage Series cards. As your collection grows, the collection path itself pays you back with cards like Joc Pederson and 95 overall Ubaldo Jimenez once you hit the right marks.

Spend Low, Not Loud

Once the free grind is handled, you should be sitting on roughly 18 cards, give or take pack luck. That leaves nine more. This is where people often mess up. Don't buy Derek Jeter, Chase Utley, or any expensive Vintage card just because it looks tempting. Filter the marketplace to Vintage Series and grab the cheapest options, usually around 4,000 to 5,000 stubs each. A better trick is to buy those cheap cards before Mini Seasons and Conquest, then use them while grinding. If you later pull duplicates, sell them back.
