With Series 5 arriving on September 10 and the Drift Attack update launching on September 7, the timing is a little different from a normal seasonal change. Having enough FH6 Credits is useful, but preparation is not only about money. Campaign progression, reward cars, temporary Time Attack content, and a suitable collection of drift cars can all make the transition much smoother.

Finish The Series 4 Playlist

The first thing to check is your current Series 4 point total. The major target is the 1970 Honda N600, which requires 80 overall Series points. If you are already close to the requirement, it makes sense to finish the easiest remaining activities rather than letting the reward slip away.

The Honda N600 is a particularly interesting addition because it is such a small and lightweight car. It may not look like an obvious performance choice, but lightweight builds can be surprisingly enjoyable on technical routes and in smaller online events.

You should also review the remaining seasonal rewards. The 1974 Toyota Celica GT and 1989 Toyota MR2 SC are among the cars associated with the current playlist rotation. If either is missing from your garage and you want it as part of your collection, Series 4 is the time to complete the relevant events.

Make The Most Of Edamame Time Attack

The temporary Edamame Time Attack Circuit is another piece of Series 4 content that should not be ignored.

This event introduced the Evolving World Time Attack mechanics, giving players a temporary track where clean driving and lap times matter more than simply completing a normal race. If you have already run the event once, consider making a few additional attempts.

You do not have to chase an extremely competitive leaderboard position. Improving your braking points, corner entry speed, and exits can often move you into a better reward tier with relatively little extra effort.

The event can also provide useful FH6 Credits, Wheelspins, and player badges through its ranking rewards. These are easy to overlook when most of your attention is focused on the main Series 4 reward car.

Unlock The Yellow Wristband

The September 7 Drift Attack update makes campaign progression more important than it might have seemed previously.

The new mode is gated behind the Yellow Wristband, so players who have mostly been driving around the map, playing multiplayer, or completing unrelated activities should check their campaign progress. If you have not reached the required milestone, now is the time to work through the necessary Horizon Festival events.

This preparation will allow you to get into the new Drift Attack content much sooner after the update goes live. The permanent Shimanoyama Circuit drift activities are one of the main attractions of the update, so being locked out because of unfinished campaign progression would be frustrating.

Prepare Several Drift Cars

Another useful preparation step is building a small group of drift-ready vehicles.

The new Drift Attack Log Book challenges are organized around different vehicle types rather than relying on a single class. Muscle Cars, Sedans, Supercars, and SUVs are all part of the requirements, so having at least one usable car in each category is a sensible approach.

These do not need to be perfect leaderboard builds. A predictable car with manageable power can be more useful than an extremely powerful setup that constantly spins the rear tires.

If you already own suitable cars, start with those and make basic tuning changes. This saves Credits and gives you familiar vehicles to work with when the update arrives.

Save Resources For Series 5

There is also a good reason not to spend every Credit in your account before September 10.

Series 5 introduces British Automotive content, and Premium Edition or Car Pass owners will receive the McLaren W1 alongside other British additions. Players without the Car Pass can still look forward to vehicles such as the returning 1990 Jaguar XJS in the Autoshow.

Keeping some Credits available means you can purchase cars you actually want and immediately install upgrades without having to rebuild your balance afterward.

Final Preparation Before September 10

If you are short on time, concentrate on the activities that will actually disappear or affect your access to the next update. Get the 80 Series points if possible, claim the seasonal cars you want, finish your Edamame Time Attack attempts, and make sure the Yellow Wristband is unlocked.

Once those jobs are done, you can spend the remaining time preparing your garage instead of rushing through objectives on the final day.
